Is GoCheckMyParents free to use?
The tools and guides are free, with no account or email address required. The only place we ask for an email is an optional waitlist you can choose to join, used once for the notification you asked for. Some third-party links are affiliate or referral links, which means we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Does the assessment determine what care my parent needs?
No. It creates an educational summary based only on the answers you enter. It does not evaluate your parent, diagnose a condition, determine whether your parent can safely live alone, or select the appropriate care setting.
Where does provider information come from?
From publicly available Medicare Care Compare and related government datasets, which we name on the page along with the date of the record. Public data can be delayed, incomplete, or corrected after publication.
Is my information stored?
Your assessment answers are never sent to us. They stay in the address bar of your own browser, which is what makes a result shareable by link. Your device stores a few small things locally: your text-size and contrast preferences, any tour scores you save, and the date and category of your last result, never your answers. When you use a provider checker, the ZIP code you type is sent to our data service to look up facilities in that area; nothing else about you is sent with it. Our host keeps standard web server logs, and our analytics is cookieless and records the page visited, not what you entered.
